Blue Thrifted Fabric Creations

Greetings Friends!

I have been slow to post my projects lately, so I’ll try to catch up. I’ve had a lot of other things going on in my life.

imgres-1imgresPattern: Butterick 5856

Fabric: Chiffon over a poly blend Lining

Difficulty: medium

Cost: Thrifted fabrics, so less than 5 bucks

Wear again: I haven’t worn it yet. I’m not sure if asymmetry is all that flattering. I’ll try it on again in the summer.

One For Leah

I had enough of both fabrics to try another pattern. This one I made for my daughter Leah. We haven’t gotten together to take any shots of her modeling it, but this one was more successful! It looks very cute on her.

Fabric: Chiffon over poly blend lining (again)

Difficulty: medium

Cost: none!

Wear again: I hope to see her in it soon.

    Cute stuff!!

  2. I like both patterns.. Nice combination of colours for the top!

  3. Great thrift buy. What kinds of thrift shops do you frequent and how often to shop them to find such great finds?

    • There is a local senior center thrift close to where I live. There must be someone there who appreciates fabric, because it is always measured and bundled and marked at a dollar a yard.
It’s a lot of fun. Thanks for your comment.

  4. Gorgeous dress and pattern Barbara, love the fabric choice. I bet Leah will look great in this. I can see endless versions of this coming off your sewing machine, perfect for summer.
